29 LOCAL GROUPS AWARDED LANDCARE GRANTS
Labor Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes, today announced the Andrews Labor Government has allocated more than $220,000 to Landcare groups in country Victoria as the part of the $2 million 2015-16 Victorian Landcare Grants.
Ms Symes said the Andrews Labor Government recognises the critical role played by Landcare groups and volunteers in country Victoria in achieving on-going environmental gains.
“The projects being funded this year will deliver important environmental outcomes for the Northern Victoria and I look forward to seeing the results of the volunteers’ hard work in the future,” Ms Symes said.
“The grants are recognition from the Labor Government of the crucial role Landcare volunteers play in protecting and enhancing country Victoria’s environmental health.
“I understand the valuable contribution Landcare groups play to our local communities and the State Government is currently reviewing what else we can do to ensure we support volunteers and groups across country Victoria.”
