Alexandra Racecourse will be alive with great racing and fun for the kids at the popular Alex Races Rock 2020 race meet on Saturday 29 February thanks to a funding package worth more than $10,000.

Member for Northern Vicoria Jaclyn Symes announced the Andrews Labor Government is investing almost $5,000 from its Victorian Racing Industry Fund – Raceday Attraction Program to support the meeting.

Alexandra Racing Club is investing close to $3,000 with Country Racing Victoria kicking in $2,500 towards the meeting.

The beautiful track in a bush setting and close to Lake Eildon sets an idyllic scene for a quality program of racing rocking entertainment for the whole family, packed with live music by the Rockin’Tones as well as a dance competition and free barbecue.

Since 1 December 2014, the Labor Government has approved almost $60,000 to support seven thoroughbred events and four infrastructure projects for Alexandra Racing Club.

The thoroughbred racing industry in regional Victoria generates $716.9 million for the Victorian economy and helps sustain more than 6,100 full time equivalent jobs.
