LABOR DELIVERS BETTER BUILDINGS FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS THANKS TO SCHOOL PRIDE
Students and teachers at local schools will soon be able to enjoy upgraded buildings and other facilities after receiving a School Pride grant from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes, today announced Undera Primary School ($62,000), Congupna Primary School ($225,000), Waaia Yalca ($65,000) and Zeerust Primary School ($60,000) would receive funding.
“Better classrooms and improved school grounds make a huge difference for students,” Ms Symes said.
“These are fantastic local schools and this funding will help make them even better.
“I’m proud to be part of a Labor Government that is investing in our students and teachers.”
This funding is in addition to $747 million in funding for Victorian schools already announced in September 2015 as part of the Labor Government’s plan to make Victoria the Education State.
Ms Symes said in making Victoria the Education State, the Labor Government wants to ensure that every child has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
“Supporting country students is vital for our state, as is building pride and confidence in our schools,” Ms Symes said.
Future rounds of School Pride Funding will roll out through the 2016-17 year.
