LOCALS TO BENEFIT FROM MANSFIELD SECONDARY COLLEGE FACILITIES AS WORKS GET UNDERWAY
Local people will join students in benefiting from the new, state-of-the-art sports facilities at Mansfield Secondary College, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced Blairgrange Pty Ltd, trading as Browns, Wangaratta, has been appointed to construct the new dual court stadium and dual outdoor courts at the school, with works now set to get underway.
Ms Symes also announced an agreement with the Mansfield Shire Council to allow for community use of the new facilities outside of school hours, so that the wider community can benefit once they are built.
The Victorian Budget 2018-19 committed $4.85 million toward stage two of the Mansfield Secondary College modernisation works, which includes the sporting facilities, with local council and the Commonwealth Government also contributing funding to make these plans a reality.
In addition to the sports facilities, the upgrades for the school also include an extension and upgrades to the science, technology, engineering and maths centre, hospitality classroom and language centre.
Works are expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
The Labor Government has invested $6.1 billion to deliver new primary and secondary schools, upgrade more than 1,400 existing schools, and create more than 7,500 construction jobs across the state.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.
