Racing fans in Benalla are in for a triple treat this summer at the Benalla Racing Club, thanks to a funding package worth more than $62,000.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced the Andrews Labor Government is tipping in $25,000 from its Victorian Racing Industry Fund to ramp up the family fun and entertainment, while the Benalla Racing Club is contributing more than $37,000 to stage the events.

The Series includes three race meetings at the popular track; Twilight Christmas Races on Saturday 21 December, Farmers and Kids Day Out on Sunday 12 January 2020, and Euroa Cup day on Sunday 15 March 2020.

Racegoers can look forward to cheering on a quality field at each event, whilst enjoying live music from local favourites including Swipe Right at the Christmas Races and Euroa Music at the Euroa Cup.

There will be organised Kelly Sports activities and Swim Safe showbags at the Farmers and Kids Day Out, with children’s activities including jumping castles, pony rides, and face painting at all three events.

There is a two-for-one ticket offer across all three events and shuttle buses will operate between the racecourse and three designated bus stops around the Benalla township.

Since December 2014, the Labor Government has provided more than $850,000 to support 10 events and 11 infrastructure projects at the Benalla Racing Club.

The thoroughbred racing industry in regional Victoria generates $716.9 million for the Victorian economy and helps sustain over 6,100 full time equivalent jobs in the region.
