SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF OUR REGIONS

The Andrews Labor Government is investing in a suite of new projects across regional and rural Victoria to deliver the infrastructure that locals and visitors need.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced $900,000 for the Nagambie Industrial Precinct Expansion, which is part of the Labor Government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund – Round 2.

Nagambie Industrial Precinct Expansion – Improving Transport Access and Linkages will support the private investment expansion of the Nagambie Industrial Precinct, and subsequent significant employment creation, through strategic public investment in enabling transport infrastructure, to improve the access, usability, safety and efficiency of the precinct.

The project will redevelop a key road, Habel Road, for heavy vehicle use thereby linking the Nagambie Industrial Precinct with the regional Freeway network and intra- and inter-state markets.  Identified as a high priority project in supporting the opportunities identified in the Nagambie Growth Management Plan, the project is integral in assisting the ongoing industrial, employment and residential growth and development of Nagambie.

The new round follows a competitive process where local regional and rural councils and other eligible groups applied for grants. Other successful projects were announced last year under the 2020/21 Stimulus Round.

The Regional Infrastructure Fund is part of the Victorian Government’s flagship $156 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, designed to help businesses create more jobs in regional Victoria and support community projects.

The Fund is key to the Government’s almost $30 billion investment across regional and rural Victoria since 2015. Information and guidelines for the Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund can be found at rdv.vic.gov.au/rjif
