NEW and improved cultural precinct projects are eligible for State Government funding, with application for 2017 Community Infrastructure and Cultural Precincts program open. The program promotes a greater use of community facilities and precincts by culturally-diverse communities, and encourages more people to participate in local activities. The grants will improve access to services and ensure community precincts support a range of cultural and tourism activities. The program is part of the government’s goal to promote an inclusive society where every Victorian is able to share their culture and traditions. “Every day, we’re making Victoria a State where everyone belongs, and these grants will help more people share their culture, contribute to the community and feel accepted,” Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes said. “The grants will promote diversity by building and improving cultural precincts, ensuring all Victorians can enjoy our rich multicultural heritage. Community groups, organisations and associations are encouraged to apply for funding, with further details at multicultural.vic.gov.au
