Men’s Shed Grants To Support Stronger Communities

29 February 2024

The Allan Labor Government is improving the health and wellbeing of communities across the state, through the latest round of the Men’s Shed Funding Program.

Men’s Sheds provide a welcoming place for people to connect, socialise and work on common projects together. They improve the mental health of their members by reducing social isolation and promoting inclusion, as members share their skills, learn new ones and make new mates in their local area.

Their members support local communities in many ways, including running first-aid courses, making toys for children, and making equipment for community service organisations like the Country Fire Authority.

Recipients include the Benambra Men’s Shed which will receive $100,000, towards the construction of new Men’s Sheds.

Other grant recipients include the Badger Creek and District Men’s Shed which will receive $7,648 to replace a staircase, making it more accessible for their members.

The Labor Government has proudly provided 487 grants to Men’s Sheds since 2015. There are currently more than 360 communities across Victoria with men’s sheds throughout Victoria.
