BETTER KINDERS FOR KIDS ACROSS NORTHERN VICTORIA

30 June 2026

Labor is making sure every child has access to world-class early learning.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes has announced that Goodstart Early Learning Numurkah will receive $750,000 to upgrade their indoor and outdoor areas.

63 kinders across the state will share in $12.3 million to improve their centres as part of the latest round of the Allan Labor Governments Building Blocks Improvement grants.

These grants help kinders upgrade, refurbish and renovate learning spaces, outdoor play areas, staff spaces and amenities.

Goodstart Early Learning Numurkah will refurbish their learning spaces and bathrooms as well as modernise their kitchen spaces and nappy change area.

The outside play spaces will get new sandpits, decking, cubby and shade sails, as well as new artificial turf areas and soft fall surfaces.

There will be new landscaping, shade trees will be planted, and the boundary fence will also be upgraded, creating a more engaging and accessible learning environment.

Labor has invested more than $44 million in 361 kinder upgrade projects across Victoria.

More than 570,000 children have benefited from Free Kinder since 2023.

The Liberals cut $1 billion from education when they were last in office – they even cut free fruit Fridays.

Now they have a $40 billion black hole in their Budget, and that just means more cuts that hurt kids.
