The Allan Labor Government is ensuring Victorian students have access to the outstanding learning environments they deserve by funding more small-scale upgrades to schools across the state.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes has announced that several schools in Northern Victoria will share in funding for a range of small-scale refurbishments through the Capital Works Fund, such as bathroom, playground and sporting oval upgrades.

These schools include:

  • Arthur’s Creek Primary School will receive over $435,000 to refurbish student toilets
  • Hurstbridge Primary School will receive almost $300,000 for an inclusive playground upgrade
  • Jamieson Primary School will receive almost $50,000 for an oval upgrade
  • Beverford District Primary School will receive over $480,000 for upgrades to their covered outdoor learning area
  • Lancaster Primary School will receive almost $50,000 for an oval and cricket pitch upgrade
  • Katandra West Primary School will receive almost $300,000 for outdoor upgrades consisting of an inclusive outdoor are and a sensory walking path
  • Orrvale Primary School will receive over $330,000 to refurbish student toilets

The fund supports projects that upgrade the condition, character or inclusiveness of Victorian schools.

The Victorian Budget 2025/26 includes an extra $25 million for the fund, helping more schools deliver essential works including $9.2 million for toilet upgrades at 21 schools across the state.

Since 2024, 122 schools have gained grants from the $50 million invested in the Capital Works Fund.

The Labor Government has invested more than $18.5 billion to build new schools and upgrade more than 2,300 existing ones – supporting more than 30,000 jobs in construction and related industries.
