BIG SCORE FOR SPORTING CLUBS IN NORTHERN VICTORIA

Labor is supporting our local sporting clubs to stay on top of their game with new equipment, volunteer training and events. 

86 grassroots sport organisations across Northern Victoria are set to bolster their volunteer skills, score uniforms and equipment or deliver a new sport program, thanks to the Allan Labor Government.  

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced the successful applicants of the latest round of the Labor Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.

The program provides grants of up to $1,000 for uniforms and equipment; up to $1,500 for resources that improve governance and engagement; up to $5,000 for projects to strengthen volunteering and officiating, up to $5,000 to deliver a new sport or recreation program and up to $750 to support athlete travel. 

By providing more opportunities for clubs and organisations to build on their capabilities, this program future proofs grassroots sport and recreation by ensuring clubs have the skills they need to take their game to the next level. 

It’s part of the Government’s support to make community sport and recreation more inclusive and accessible, create more volunteer opportunities and increase participation. 

The program is backed by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund that is delivering infrastructure upgrades and other programs including the Regional Community Sport Infrastructure Fund to help more regional Victorians get active and be part of their local sporting club.
