Nagambies new streetscape open for business, Waranga News, Melbourne

The Nagambie Streetscape upgrade has been officially opened by Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes. Ms Symes said the project was the first step in repositioning Nagambie as a destination of choice for lifestyle and tourism visitation. The Victorian Government provided $500,000 toward the project. It is proposed to deliver a more accessible, functional streetscape with improved amenity, better connected service roads and an attractive town-entry feature roundabout at the intersection of High and Goulburn streets. Strathbogie Shire Council and the local community worked together to shape an overall concept plan for the redevelopment of the main street of Nagambie in order to maximise its potential. Ms Symes said the upgrade is also a means of increasing the focus of the town onto the beautiful environs of Lake Nagambie and increasing the towns appeal and attraction. Nagambie is a beautiful town with a huge potential for economic growth by maximising its tourism and lifestyle appeal, she said. This new and attractive entry to the town will help shape a positive experience and bring visitors to Nagambie. I am pleased to be here today to share in the exciting future that is opening up for Nagambie. Supporting projects like these is the aim of our $500 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, which will support major projects, create the jobs and industries of the future and build stronger country communities.
